2021 Ones to Watch: Jay Goldberg, Owner & President, Spire Investments

Which project, deal, or transaction was the “game-changer” in the advancement of your career? Without a doubt the development of the prestigious property named The Breakaway at Salem Common in Salem, Mass. I began with a vision – one that included its fair share of obstacles, but also one that enabled me to create a first-of-its kind luxury residential destination on the North Shore.

Who or what inspires you? The next deal.

What advice can you offer to someone who is interested in a career in your industry? Take risks, listen to others, but listen to yourself the most.

Who was/is your mentor and how did s/he influence/help you in your career? My father and my great uncle... My father, for demonstrating work ethic and showing me that slow and steady wins the race. My great uncle, for creating one of the top real estate development firms in the country with creativity, humor, and hard work.
