2022 Ones to Watch: Emily Simard, Senior Leasing Manager at Samuels & Associates

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Leasing up 201 Brookline, a 500,000 s/f life science tower adjacent to 401 Park. During the leasing process I was inspired hearing about the important work these life science companies are doing and am proud to have found them a home to continue their work and grow. These 10 tenants will help establish a life sciences ecosystem in the Fenway neighborhood, which will draw future innovators to the area and supports our local retailers. I also like thinking about what retail/amenities we can bring to the neighborhood to further enhance work life in the Fenway.

What led you to your current profession? Persistence: There are many different aspects to the real estate industry, so finding the right role in the right sub-space is important. Open mindedness: Meeting with and working with as many different people as possible to learn from them, find where your passions lie. Civic engagement: Growing up in Greater Boston I’ve always had an interest in what is happening in my city, what is new and upcoming, and being a part of shaping communities. I felt S&A was the right place for that and I get to do what I enjoy.

What are the top 3 items on your bucket list?

  1. Travel the world
  2. Adopt a puppy
  3. Furnish my new condo which was my most recent checked-off bucket list accomplishment!

What are you doing when you aren’t working? Researching new places to travel (I just finished hiking the Inca Trail), running, reading, and spending time on Cape Cod with my friends and family
