Starting out in the construction business, who or what empowered you? Early in my career, I worked under the tutelage of Jose Pocasangre, a construction industry professional with more than 30 years’ experience. He was a perfectionist with an eye for detail. I made beginners’ mistakes, but despite his busy schedule, Jose took time to help me understand the science behind designs and materials. I was a quick learner, readily picking up on his lessons. Once I mastered the “whats,” it became a matter of “how” to better my work. This is a mantra that helps me daily, to stand out of the crowd and bring something new to the table.
