2022 Women in Construction: Emily Rothschild, Director of Special Projects at NeighborWorks Housing Solutions
What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Since I entered the affordable housing development field in 1987, I have completed 68 development projects in 27 communities – most targeted for the poorest of the poor. My goal is to create high-quality housing, while maximizing the number of individuals that can move out of shelters and off the streets. Ten months ago, I joined the top-notch construction/development team at NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. We already have five projects in development, creating 167 new housing units. COVID was unbelievably challenging for homeless individuals; it is my hope that we can finally make homelessness a short-term experience and not a long-term identity.
