When you’re not busy, what is your go to book or podcast to help you unwind? When I am in my car, I like to jump on Clubhouse. The platform has a multitude of “clubhouses” that appeal to me professionally and personally. Some of my favorites are Design + Data with Thinklab, Contract Interiors Club, Design with Purpose Club, and The Future of Work. The discussions encompass all things related to the business of design. Members of these clubs are worldwide and bring a broad insight to many of the challenges, observations, and successes relative to all things built. I can always find some very insightful club conversations that make the time in the car productive.
What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? Network, network, and network! The design-build industry in New England has so many affiliations that can connect you to every facet of our industry – IIDA, IFMA, CoreNet, WIRE, and PWC to name a few. Each of these associations hold networking events and industry events that connect you with people relative to all things built. Over the years I have forged and maintained some amazing relationships through these associations that have helped me to grow within this industry. I have also made some amazing friendships as well.
