2023 Year in Review: Dennis Swart, DJSA Architects

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? Over the past twelve months, the multi-family market has remained quite strong. We still see solid activity in this market moving into next year. We have also seen an uptick in our hospitality sector work as well. I believe this market is poised for growth as it emerges from the hard times over the past few years.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2023? While 2023 was filled with the completion of some great projects, including an 80-unit adaptive reuse apartment project, a new YMCA aquatics center, and a large-scale addition to an industrial facility, one of the most important accomplishments of this past year has been working with our business consultant to evaluate and improve the business processes and develop an ownership transition plan that will allow us to have continued growth and continuity moving into the future.
