“Liz’s potential was evident from the start. She has an intuitive understanding of client expectations, values collaboration, and brings positive energy to each endeavor. Liz never shies away from a challenge; she is a nimble learner and a proactive problem solver. These qualities are essential for an architect in our demanding and complex industry. Her capabilities and leadership, especially her focus on QAQC and mentoring are making a meaningful impact on our practice.” - Phil Renzi, Associate at The Architectural Team (TAT).

In the last 12 months what accomplishment are you most proud of? I spearhead initiatives that impact client satisfaction, workplace efficiencies, and design quality. I’m fortunate to pursue various interests at TAT, working to create meaningful change, including beta-testing new technology. It’s exciting to contribute to the successful evolution of the firm – I help direct the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team and collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to identify technology that advances our practice goals. Without question, giving birth to my son is the greatest gift and accomplishment of my life.

How do you balance your rising career with your personal life? Architecture is a high-pressure environment. Rigorous prioritization is critical. As a person who loves her career and is a mom to a 7-month-old, I want to be involved in my son’s childhood and excel at my job. To create balance, I regularly reassess my workload, state clear boundaries, and set realistic timelines. During family time, my phone is put away. At work, I put clients’ needs first. Agility is essential to my success.

Who are the key people in your life that have contributed to your success? My husband: he is a loving, communicative, and present husband, and father. His support helps me thrive. My parents: they modeled self-sufficiency, self-reliance, financial security, persistence, and resilience. They encouraged my ambition, creativity, and problem solving. They gave me the incredible gift of self-confidence. My colleagues have always been supportive, and I am deeply grateful to Phil Renzi for his continued mentorship, design expertise, positive attitude, and perspective on our role as advisors and advocates.

Outside of your career, where else do you seek continuous learning and personal growth? I love gardening because it satisfies my curiosity and enjoyment of experimentation. Each season, I try something different or grow something new, learning as I go. I deliberately identify plants in the world and determine what is invasive, edible, or beneficial to the environment. Even with less free time, I can still push the boundaries of my knowledge in my garden. Every attempt is a fun experiment.
