2024 Year in Review: Margaret Cachel, Vantage Builders

Margaret Cachel
Managing Director/Director of Estimating & Preconstruction
Vantage Builders

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2024?
Our greatest professional accomplishment was being awarded an impactful project that will kick off just after the new year. Achieving this required tremendous collaboration and hard work from our internal team, and we’ll continue that throughout the project’s completion. The project involves building a live/learn/work campus for a client that provides residential, educational, and rehabilitative services for individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities. We’re especially excited to support such a meaningful mission and look forward to collaborating with the entire team to create a space that enhances lives.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2025?
In 2025, I believe we’ll see a resurgence of tenant improvement projects, as companies continue to implement their “back to work” plans. We’re seeing companies move away from open office layouts and toward more private offices and flexible workspaces. This shift reflects a growing focus on creating environments that balance both collaboration and individual productivity, while supporting hybrid work. Additionally, I expect there will be increased demand for customizable spaces that better support the evolving needs of businesses and their employees, ultimately improving the overall work experience and driving investment in the commercial real estate market.
