Ron Pereira
Warehouse Loader Supervisor
B.C. Tent & Awning Co., Inc.

“Ron is an awesome overall individual. He is someone you can always count on. Ron is bright, patient, mechanically sound, and has innate understanding of personalities. If there is an emergency, he will work to solve the problem. You never have to remind or micromanage him. His personality is always infectious. He is always patient with customers and fellow team members. He is just a great person. Ron lives in Maine and travels to work in southeastern MA for us during the week (stays here during the week and heads home on the weekends.). It’s dedication to a job that he enjoys.” Bob Costa, President at B.C. Tent & Awning Co., Inc.

What recent professional milestone or project are you most proud of, and why? We are currently installing a RFID system in our warehouse. I have been heavily involved in implementing the system. I have come up with new ideas of placement and strategies regarding the RFID tagging because the tags are somewhat unique to the equipment we use. I am currently the only person in our company that is able to use the RFID program. I am currently in the process of creating a manual and training program on how to use the system. This is a different experience for me since I have been involved in the administrative end of our business.

Who has played a pivotal role in your development, and how have they influenced you? In my work life I had Bob Kelleher. Bob was our warehouse supervisor and he always encouraged me to learn new skills and helped with my overall confidence that I can try anything. Bob recently passed away and his presence is very much missed. Personally, my parents have always been my example of hard work, honesty and faith. My work ethic comes solely from them. I was raised on a farm and as 1 kid out of 6 we were all expected to do what we can to help our parents. We worked hard and played hard. We were all close in age so sometimes the work was forgotten but it always got done.
