What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community?  An achievement I am most proud of would be the growth within Metro Walls. I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible woman in the construction industry for over ten years now. It has been such a great opportunity to see Metro Walls and the AEC industry grow as much as it has. As I enter my thirteenth year with the company, I am excited by the number of women who have joined our consistently growing team; this makes me extremely happy and excited for the future of women in construction.

Who or what has inspired you the most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation or women entering the A/E/C industry? What inspires me the most about the construction industry is that you do not need a college degree to build a successful career. It is a great chance to enter such a rewarding field, and I would suggest to any woman or generation of women to join this industry. I am extremely grateful that I took the leap when I was only twenty-one years old. Something I would tell someone entering the industry to always make sure to ask questions, take initiative, and be a team player who everyone wants to work with.

What is your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? Outside of work I love spending time with my family, traveling and volunteering.

Do you have a hidden talent or surprising fact about yourself that most people would not know? Something that is interesting about me is that I’m bilingual! I speak both Bosnian and English.
