What trends or innovations do you believe will shape the future of your field, and how are you positioning yourself (or your firm) to be at the forefront? In the Northeast, a growing demand for diverse project delivery types is emerging. Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (P3) methods are becoming increasingly popular due to their ability to streamline project delivery in today’s schedule-driven environment. Margulies Perruzzi stands out as a leader in this area because of our deep understanding of these delivery options. Furthermore, we leverage our extensive relationships and network to proactively identify opportunities for strategic teaming agreements.

What is one project or achievement in your career that you are most proud of, and how did it impact your organization or community? The Merrimack Valley project, completed in 2019, provided me with a valuable learning experience. Working closely with the client, OPM, users, and various consultants underscored the importance of collaboration in architecture and design, demonstrating that these are not solitary endeavors. I witnessed firsthand how a positive attitude and strong work ethic contribute to project success. Ultimately, this project had a substantial positive impact on the community, bringing much-needed state-of-the-art cancer care to an area previously underserved.

Who or what has inspired you most in your career, and what advice would you share with the next generation of women entering the A/E/C industry? Throughout my career, I have been inspired by many people. Our industry is constantly evolving, driven by advancements in technology, building methods, and best practices. There is always someone with more knowledge and expertise, so it’s essential to ask questions, stay curious, and share resources. The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry has opportunities for growth in diversity. I believe this presents a significant opportunity for women to make a meaningful impact in our industry. Women bring unique perspectives and problem-solving skills that can enhance our work.

What’s your favorite way to recharge or get inspired outside of work? Travel inspires me to try new experiences, explore unfamiliar places, engage with diverse cultures.

Do you have a hidden talent or a surprising fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know? I speak four languages and hold Mexican, American, and Canadian nationalities.
