What drew you to commercial real estate, and what keeps you passionate? Commercial real estate drew me in because, while some elements are predictable, every deal is unique and must be tailored to the property’s and client’s needs. The work is dynamic, and the strong relationships – with clients, colleagues, and the broader CRE community – are what keep me passionate.

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate? If you can find a mentor – male or female – who makes you integral to their practice, there’s no better way to learn. No one knows everything at the start, so ask questions. With each transaction, your knowledge will grow, and so will your expertise and confidence.

What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why? One of my most rewarding deals involved representing a lender on a commercial construction and bridge loan supporting much-needed housing in an urban redevelopment area. The financing included local, state, nonprofit, and private funding sources, adding complexity and interest to the transaction. Seeing a project like this come to life is both meaningful and rewarding.

What’s a challenge you faced early in your career, and how did you overcome it? Early in my career, being both young and a woman, I was often underestimated. By consistently delivering professionalism, expertise, responsiveness, and attention to detail, I’ve built a strong reputation as a go-to real estate finance attorney among clients and the commercial real estate community.
