What drew you to commercial real estate, and what keeps you passionate? I was first introduced to commercial real estate (CRE) during a college finance course. This class sparked a career path that combines my interest in financial analysis with my desire to have a lasting impact on the community. In an increasingly virtual world, CRE offers the satisfaction of seeing real, physical results in the neighborhoods we serve. I enjoy the challenge of structuring deals and creating value from a tangible investment – it’s what keeps me passionate about this work. And since no two deals are alike, the work is always interesting.
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate? Lean into your confidence early on. Focus on your technical skills, as credibility in this business goes a long way. Don’t underestimate the importance of relationships – mentors, peers, and sponsors can open doors and provide support when needed. Approach every opportunity with curiosity, resilience and conviction to not only build a successful career, but to also lead this industry forward.
