The R.I. Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (RIAGC) recently elected Armand Lusi to a two-year term as president.
Lusi is president of A. F. Lusi Construction, Inc. He joined his father's company in 1983, starting as a laborer and working his way up to president in October 2002. The company has been a member of the RIAGC for about 25 years. Lusi previously served the chapter as vice president for two years. Prior to that, he was chapter secretary for two years.
"I look forward to working with our members to continue to improve the R.I. commercial construction industry," he said.
Among the RIAGC's recent activities are its work with BuildRI, a labor-management partnership organization, to provide a $250,000 grant from the union-supported RIAGC Industry Advancement Fund to help renovate office and classroom space that The Providence Plan is leasing for its YouthBuild Providence job training and education programs in the Olneyville Housing Corp.'s headquarters building in Providence. The RIAGC also works with the RIAGC student chapter at Roger Williams University.
