Shawmut Design and Construction, an $860 million national construction management firm, recently completed the renovation of the Fresh Pond Mall façade. Located at 186 Alewife Brook Parkway, the three-story strip mall, which houses eight retail stores and office space, remained fully operational throughout construction.
"This renovation not only upgraded the façade, but created new office space for local businesses," said Nigoghos Atinizian, president of Vast Capital Management. "We reinvested in this mall to continue to improve the customer experience and create more opportunities for the community with available office space."
The Shawmut team completely replaced the mall's façade. To keep customers safe, they built full safety barricades around the perimeter. The team worked with designer NORR to modernize the façade, working on a highly accelerated schedule with a non-negotiable deadline.
