A. P. Construction nears completion of 37,000 s/f Stamford housing project

A.P. Construction Company, the general contracting and construction management division of The Ashforth Company, is currently completing the construction of a 37,000 s/f affordable housing project. The multifamily residential property is located at 25 Third St. This project includes the conversion of an existing 25,000 s/f Class B office building to a 50-unit apartment building. 12,000 s/f is being added to the rear so that the project will provide 13 studio, 25 one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom affordable apartments. Serious Glass windows are being installed which let natural light in while blocking harmful ultraviolet radiation. These windows are designed to reduce energy consumption and operating costs. They also may potentially help cut construction costs by allowing the heating and cooling systems to be down-sized. The project is anticipated to be completed this summer. "We are glad to be working on an affordable housing project right in our own community and to add another large residential project to our portfolio," said Nicholas Everett, senior vice president of A.P. Construction Company. The architect is A. Hennessy Architects, PC LLC. Tom Favazzo is the project manager and Larry Quintiliano is the superintendent, both of A.P. Construction Company.
