March 01, 2012 - Front Section
According to Columbia Construction Company, Bill Aalerud, LEED AP, has joined the company as a project executive. Aalerud's primary focus will be to provide executive responsibilities for a variety of projects, overseeing and implementing continued growth in the healthcare and academic market segments while working closely with the firm's principals to help guide Columbia's long-term strategic growth.
Aalerud has 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry. Prior to joining Columbia, Aalerud was with A.J. Martini. He started in the Martini organization as a project manager and progressed up through the organization as a project executive, director of operations and, for his remaining nine years with the firm, president.
"We couldn't be more pleased to have someone of Bill's stature join the Columbia team," said Bruce Gordon, president of Columbia Construction. "Bill will play an important leadership role in helping us to implement our strategic business plan while maintaining the highest level of commitment to our clients."
Aalerud graduated from the University of Lowell with a Civil Engineering degree and has an MBA from Babson College. He is an avid bike rider (actively participating in the Pan Mass Challenge since 2005), enjoys skiing and other athletic activities, and contributes a fair amount of time volunteering for various groups (such as the AGC, Winchester Hospital and Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly to name a few).
