Shair of M&J Associates arranges 6,000 s/f lease to Yamato Japanese Steakhouse

According to Mark Shair, president of M&J Associates, Yamato Japanese Steakhouse has opened on Westgate Drive at the Westgate Mall. The restaurant is 6,000 s/f and was formerly a Uno's Restaurant. Yamato features hibachi style grills that can seat up to 15 people at each station. In addition, there is an extensive sushi bar. And, a large alcoholic bar/lounge area. Yamato recently opened a smaller steakhouse on Rt 44 in Taunton. In addition, they operate restaurants in R.I. and Conn. According to Shair, " Yamato is a very experienced high-quality operator. They totally re-built the former Uno's and the level of finish is first-class. Their location at Westgate is ideal. The front of the building faces the new 80,000 s/f Market Basket that is under construction at the mall which will be opening in a few months. We are actively seeking additional locations in Mass., R.I., Conn. and N.H. for them." M&J Associates represented the landlord and directly secured the tenant.
