Acorn Management held the grand opening of its latest mill conversion, Riverbank Lofts. The development is already 50% rented.
Formerly known as Manomet Mills, this 250,000 s/f historic brick building has undergone a total renovation which retains the building's original charm. A keynote feature of the newly renovated building is its original hardwood floors. Made of birds eye and tiger maple, they have been beautifully restored. Fourteen foot windows overlook the Acushnet River and the wildlife that inhabits the marshlands along its banks.
The developer, Quentin Ricciardi of Acorn Management has maintained the original look of the brick building and created 126 lofts style, two bedroom, two bathroom apartments with 18 foot ceilings. Quentin said, "We worked closely with our historic preservation expert and made every effort to maintain and preserve the historic integrity of the building including the retention of exposed brick throughout. In addition, through the use of roof top solar panels, the development is committed to green techlology."
A three story glass atrium serves as the building lobby. Another unique feature of the redevelopment, is a secure heated parking garage. The property also features a river walk along the banks of the Acushnet River.
The developer has installed modern systems including a lobby entrance video intercom and free wi-fi throughout the building. Each apartment has stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, stand alone HVAC systems in each unit , a fitness center, community laundry facilities and a common room for the exclusive use of the tenants.
