April 29, 2009 - Northern New England
R.J. Finlay & Co., a New Hampshire-based real estate firm, has acquired a majority of Morin Brick, and begun a recapitalization plan. The investment allows Morin Brick, in business since 1912, to emerge from Chapter 11 court protection and re-start production.

The experienced professionals at Morin Brick will continue to manage operations, assuring continuity of product quality and development. In addition, the acquisition secures the jobs of 15 current employees and provides for 40 additional full-time positions.

"I'm delighted to have the resources and full financial support of R.J. Finlay & Co. Morin Brick has always held a prominent place in the landscape of New England's building industry, and R.J. Finlay & Co's belief in our vitality ensures our 97-year tradition of uncompromised brick making will continue," said Morin Brick president Norm Davis.
Davis said, "In many ways, Morin Brick is now stronger than ever. With R.J. Finlay & Co's investment, we are re-energized. We're focused on ensuring the same quality and customer satisfaction Morin Brick has become known for, as well as increasing our capacity and product diversity."
"For nearly a century, the name Morin Brick has been synonymous with outstanding brick manufacturing throughout New England. We are thrilled to finance this proud tradition into its next century of excellence. When small businesses are struggling to meet the challenges of this national recession, I am pleased and honored to put 40 individuals back to work in this community," said Robert Finlay, CEO of R.J.
