As president-elect, Moore will succeed Mary Foster as president of the FEA at the FEA annual conference in Las Vegas on October 10-11th.
The Federation of Exchange Accommodators is the national trade organization formed to represent qualified intermediaries (QIs), their primary legal/tax advisors, and affiliates who are directly involved in Section 1031 Exchanges. Formed in 1989, the FEA was organized to promote the discussion of ideas and innovations in the industry, to establish and uphold the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct for QIs, to offer education to both the exchange industry and the general public, and to work towards the development of uniformity of practice and terminology within the exchange profession. The FEA also provides timely input and updates on pending issues at the state and federal level, Internal Revenue Service and Treasury rulings, and court decisions.
Moore was selected as president-elect as a result of his outstanding service to the FEA in his role as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and frequent speaker at the FEA annual, mid-year, and regional conferences. Moore is also the founder and chair of the Small Business Resource Forum, and the Founder and Chair of the Affiliates Committee, which focuses on helping the current FEA affiliates get more from their membership and achieve the common goal of getting FEA members to use affiliate services.
The main purpose of the Small Business Resource Forum is to focus on the business needs and challenges that face small QI firms. Moore chairs monthly conference calls for forum members and encourages the forum members to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences with one another during and outside of these conference calls to support each other.
Moore's reputation in the FEA as an innovative role model and leader has certainly earned the respect of his peers and 1031 industry experts on a nationwide basis. Furthermore, Moore earned his Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES) designation from the FEA. The CES designation formally recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated, through years of experience, testing, and continuing education, their knowledge of IRC Section 1031 rules and regulations pertaining to like-kind exchanges.
Moore's extensive involvement with the FEA and his continued support of their ideals and continuing education programs has proved to be a tremendous asset to the organization and its members. Moore will follow a long line of excellent presidents of the FEA and looks forward to leading the organization to new heights over the course of his one-year term.
