Allston LabWorks welcomes local independent retailers across 20,000 s/f of space

Boston, MA At Allston LabWorks, King Street Properties has made a deliberate decision to prioritize local, independent businesses across 20,000 s/f of ground-floor retail spread across three buildings — creating a mix that feels less like a traditional lab development and more like a place you want to spend time in.

The lineup is intentionally eclectic and local:

Molly’s Bookstore: an independent bookstore designed around visits to bookstores around the world, creating a place of community to read and connect.

FiDO: a new concept from Traveler Street Hospitality, founders of No Relations, Shore Leave, Bar Mezzana, FiDo serves New York Style pizzas and cocktails.

Park Bagelry: a new concept from local restaurateurs Tiny Engine Collective. Known for Diesel Cafe, Bloc Cafe and Forge Baking Co. each bagel is made here daily.

Alchemy Station: a woman-owned art consulting firm and creative studio whose mission centers on creating meaningful connections between artists and developers, property owners, architects, designers, organizations and the broader community. The 1,873 s/f office includes two artists in residence units. A cornerstone of this initiative is the on-site studio residency program which supports artistic experimentation, visibility, and career growth.

BioBuilder: opened a new learning lab at the ground floor to train the future biomanufacturing workforce. With so much talk about hiring local, BioBuilder is putting this talk into action. BioBuilder Educational Foundation is a non profit offering innovative ways to teach, learn and explore science and engineering skills.

Allston Labworks is a brand-new campus joining this innovation ecosystem. Spanning four acres in this vibrant neighborhood of Allston, it will bring together life sciences with a dynamic community. With 535,000 s/f of lab space, 35 residential apartments, studio and gallery spaces, restaurant and retail shops, and BioBuilder, we are fostering an ecosystem where science, creativity, and community thrive together.
