South Portland, ME American Family Care (AFC), one of the nation’s leading providers of urgent care and occupational medicine, continues to expand its national care network with the opening this spring of the latest AFC urgent care center at 230 Waterman Dr. This 3,150 s/f center will be the first in a network of centers to come in the state.
The new facility will be owned and operated by local residents, Dr. Andre Couture and Lee Moehlenkamp. Dr. Couture is board certified in emergency medicine and will serve as medical director and Moehlenkamp will serve as managing director.
“I’m excited to return to the community where I grew up to provide urgent care to families who live and work nearby,” said Dr. Couture. “We care deeply about keeping the community healthy and look forward to becoming a trusted member.”
AFC South Portland will be the second center operated by Moehlenkamp. The first center opened seven years ago in Braintree, Mass., and has become among the top five best performing centers in the national AFC network. Moehlenkamp attributes the success of AFC Braintree to the entire staff’s commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences from the moment a patient walks through the door. AFC South Portland promises to be no different.
“Our patients will be able to count on us to consistently deliver exceptional medical care in a welcoming and friendly environment while always being respectful of their time and hard earned money,” said Moehlenkamp.
AFC South Portland will provide a comprehensive suite of medical services that will make it a convenient, economical alternative to visiting a hospital emergency room for virtually all non-life threatening illness and injuries.
