President Gerald Ford and Vice President Nelson Rockefeller were in office. The cost of a gallon of gas and loaf of bread were approximately 44 and 33 cents respectively. George Carlin hosted the first Saturday Night Live show, and being an avid Red Sox fan, I won't mention the World Series win (Cincinnati Reds). If you have not guessed, the year was 1975, and it also marked the beginning of American Window Film, Inc.'s 40-year history.
American Window Film has rolled with the punches that the great recession delivered, weathered the escalating wrath of New England's harsh climate and has been witness to the destruction that followed in the wake of terrorism. Despite challenges, our group has remained steadfast and progressive. We have relocated into larger space, invested in infrastructure, and have kept very busy with installations of our safety, security, solar control and energy conservation window films that, due to the nature of our times, have remained in high demand. We consider ourselves fortunate to sell and install 3M Window Films -- products that continue to serve New England well by protecting people and property from vandalism, windstorms and bomb blasts. They reduce heat gain in warmer months, heat loss in colder months and provide solar control while reducing glare and fading of fabrics, furnishings, works of art and historical documents.
Principals in the company, James Davey (vice president operations), James Maloof (vice president sales) and I, Peter Davey (president), have over 100 years of combined experience. Our distinct strengths serve the company well and our longevity is testament to our success. With few words, our vice presidents have pretty much summed up the secrets to a 40-year history of achievements.
Jim Davey: "We consider ourselves the 'Eveready' battery of window film dealers. We keep on 'filming' on."
Jim Maloof: "We know our products, listen to our customers and find solutions for them. Not surprisingly, they remain loyal." Ultimately, I have consistently said that quality products, a knowledgeable staff and excellent service will weather the tests of time...and resilience helps.
