ASM's Discussion Group holds first meeting
One of the most significant challenges for construction companies - particularly in the early years of the business - is securing the financing necessary to take on new work and carry the upfront costs for weeks or months until they get paid. It's a major impediment to growing their business. That's why ASM has convened a Discussion Group, including representatives from commercial lending institutions, state and federal government agencies, and the subcontracting community, to explore this dilemma and ways to address the problem. The group held its first meeting on Feb. 27 and additional sessions are planned. Look for more information from ASM during 2015 on the group's progress and recommendations.
