Barkan Management Company contracted by BLVD Capital for six properties

Newton, MA Barkan Management Company has been contracted by Los Angeles-based BLVD Capital to assume the management and day-to-day operations of six of the company’s affordable apartment communities in New England.

“We are very pleased to have been awarded the management contracts for these affordable housing communities,” said Bill DiSchino CPM, president and CEO of Barkan. “BLVD wanted a management company with a local presence, solid reputation and track record, and strong ties to the communities where the apartments are located. Following a lengthy and extensive process, Barkan was determined to be the best fit.”

The communities are located in Mass. and R.I: Falls View Apartments in Chicopee, MA; St. Joseph’s Court Apartments in North Adams, MA; Park Plaza Apartments in Johnston, RI; Rock Ridge Homes in Woonsocket, RI; and Chatham Village and Braeburn Apartments, both in Providence.

“While Barkan may be best known for the management of condominiums and co-operatives, we are steadily growing our portfolio of affordable communities, now with 38 throughout New England,” said Laura Waldrop CPM, vice president of Barkan, who will oversee the management and day-to-day operations of the six communities.
