Barkan Management Co. hires and promotes employees

Boston, MA Barkan Management Company recently hired and promoted multiple people at the company, they include the following:

• Bart Steele, CMCA, AMS, has joined the company as a portfolio manager. Steele is based in the Boston office and will oversee an initial portfolio comprised of four residential condominium communities, all in the city: 14 West Broadway, The Penmark Condominiums, The Hill Condominiums, and Back of the Hill Townhouses. Additionally, Steele manages the commercial offices at Chestnut Hill Medical Center in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Steele comes to Barkan with a solid track record of experience in the property management industry. While at Premier Property Solutions LLC, he was assistant vice president and, prior to that, a senior regional property manager. He has also worked as a construction manager and real estate agent.

• Sarah Flannigan, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, has been promoted to senior portfolio manager in the Providence office. This is not Flannigan’s only notable recent achievement: in 2018, she achieved Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation, the highest professional recognition in the industry.

• Erin Horan has been named human resources manager. Horan brings more than 18 years of experience in the field. Most recently, she was a human resources business partner with Ironshore Services, Inc. Prior to that, she worked for American International Group in Lexington, Mass. and Lucent Technologies in Cambridge.  

• Diana Montalbano, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, has been promoted to senior portfolio manager. This is not Montalbano’s only notable recent achievement: in 2018, she achieved the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation, the highest professional recognition in the industry.

• John Thiboutot, CMCA, has joined the company as a portfolio manager. Thiboutot is based in the Boston office and will oversee an initial portfolio comprised of five condominium communities, all in Mass.: Newfield Woods in West Roxbury, Medfield Gardens in Medfield, Endicott Woods in Norwood, Hammond Park in Newton, and The Residences at Hooper Mansion in Boston. He brings 12 years of experience in the property management industry to Barkan, having worked at First Realty Management and The Niles Co., Inc. before that.
