Bloom of Sherin and Lodgen to receive Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts’ Lifetime Achievement Award

Boston, MA According to Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP, Edward Bloom, a partner in the firm’s real estate department, will receive the Richard B. Johnson Award at the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA) Spring Conference on May 2. Established in 1977, the award was created to honor Richard B. Johnson, a highly regarded figure in the legal community following distinguished service in World War II. Award recipients have included members of the judiciary, former REBA officers, members of the land court’s legal staff and distinguished real estate attorneys. REBA’s highest honor, this lifetime achievement award recognizes outstanding and selfless contributions to advancing the practice of real estate law.

 Bloom is widely respected for his knowledge and experience in real estate law. He concentrates his practice on the development, sale, leasing, and mortgaging of office, shopping center, industrial, and condominium properties. He is a past president of REBA, co-chairs its amicus committee and is a past chair of its leasing committee.

He is a past president of The Abstract Club and a past chair of the Boston Bar Association’s leasing committee.

Bloom is the editor and a co-author of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s (MCLE’s) treatise on Lease Drafting in Massachusetts and has chaired and lectured for many years at seminars for MCLE, REBA, The Abstract Club and the Boston Bar Association. He was designated a Scholar-Mentor by MCLE in 2012 and admitted to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers in 2006.
