Woburn, MA Verde Farms has doubled its footprint to 8,600 s/f at TradeCenter 128. This is the organic meat supplier’s second expansion since relocating from Somerville last year.

“Verde Farms is experiencing impressive growth in sales and staff,” said Morgan Blum, the Cummings Properties account manager who worked with Verde’s COO/CFO Paul Boulanger and Todd Faber of The Faber Group on the expansion. “We are so pleased that Verde chooses time and again to stay and grow its business with Cumming Properties.”

Verde Farms was founded in 2005 by Dana Ehrlich (who was recently featured in a piece about entrepreneurship in The New York Times and in SmartCEO), using $100,000 from personal savings and student loans to secure debt financing. Last year’s sales exceeded $50 million.

The firm provides completely natural and organic pasture-raised meats to retailers and foodservice companies nationwide from farms all over the world, including Uruguay, Australia, and New Zealand. It promotes environmental sustainability while trying to meet consumer demand for more organic and grass-fed meats. Its products are available for purchase locally at Market Basket, Costco, and Wegman’s and served at local burrito chain Boloco.

Cummings Properties’ TradeCenter 128 is home to more than 100 client firms, including Middlesex Superior Court, Al’s Café, Dunkin’ Donuts, Strega Prime, Harvard Pilgrim’s HealthPlans, and Winchester Hospital. The award-winning campus offers first-class fully built out space for a wide range of commercial uses, including healthcare facilities, laboratories, retail storefronts, executive offices, and more.
