Boggs joins Fuss & O’Neill as senior project manager

Manchester, CT Richard Boggs, PE, SECB, LEED AP, has joined Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. as senior project manager. An acclaimed structural engineer, Boggs has overseen the design and renovation of many well-known buildings, including the ESPN transmission building in Bristol, the seismic renovation of the Kinsella Magnet School in Hartford, and the vault restoration at Hartford’s Union Station.

He also has an interest and experience in adaptive reuse, and has worked on a variety of projects including the New Fairfield Creamery, Canaan Depot, and Olde School Commons in Bridgeport. As project manager in Fuss & O’Neill’s Structural Engineering Group, he will oversee building design and restoration projects.

A structural engineer with more than 30 years of experience, Boggs is an expert on structural analysis, structural system selection and design, cost evaluation, specification preparation, peer reviews and execution, and supervision of contract documents for both new and renovated building projects. He has designed more than 300 buildings, with values ranging from $5,000 to over $300 million, serving educational, government, healthcare, institutional, corporate, utility, and industrial clients.

Boggs is a former president and Board member of the Structural Engineers Coalition of ACEC/Connecticut. He is also the current Connecticut state delegate to the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) and currently serves on the board of directors of the International Code Council (ICC) Professional Chapter of Connecticut.  He is an ACE mentor and has served on several educational advisory boards, including the Advisory Board of the Academy of Engineering and Green Technology at Hartford High School. Boggs is a licensed Professional Engineer in 15 states plus the District of Columbia, a board certified Structural Engineer, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
