Bohler celebrates 25 years of growth and expansion in New England

Southborough, MA Bohler New England is proud to celebrate 25 years of delivering innovative land development solutions across the region. Since opening its office with just 10 employees, the team has expanded to four locations and grown to more than 120 professionals.

Beyond its physical expansion, Bohler has evolved in the scale and diversity of its projects. From humble beginnings designing local, small-scale projects, the team now plays a pivotal role in some of New England’s most high-profile developments, including Polar Park and its surrounding mixed-use district, Encore Boston Harbor, and some of the region’s largest industrial facilities and solar fields. These landmark projects are revitalizing neighborhoods, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the local landscape.

“Our growth in New England is a reflection of the dedication and passion our team brings every day. It’s been a privilege to lead Bohler as we expand our footprint and continue to deliver impactful projects,” said John Kucich, principal and regional manager.

Bohler’s specialized expertise has also grown significantly. The New England team is playing a key role in advancing the firm’s nationwide support for the growing data center market through a dedicated mission critical team. This team is committed to providing consistent, high-quality service and deliverables to data center clients across the firm.

Additionally, Bohler’s planning, landscape architecture, and design team, led by Matt Mrva, has also experienced significant growth, delivering designs for several Everett city parks, the YMCA of MetroWest, UMass Lowell, as well as luxury, market-rate, and affordable residential developments across the region.

“We believe that thoughtful design can transform spaces into vibrant places to live, work, and play. Our team is dedicated to enhancing the lives of those who interact with our projects by helping to create places that bring communities together,” said Matt Mrva, principal

Bohler’s growth and success are driven by a dedicated group of experienced leaders who have built strong teams and spearheaded the firm’s expansion into New Hampshire, Boston, and Connecticut. Notably, John Kucich, regional manager, Austin Turner, principal and branch manager, and Josh Swerling, managing director, client experience, have played key roles in this progress.

Matt Smith, divisional managing partner, reflected on the leadership team’s impact: “The strength of our firm lies in the talented professionals who have grown with us. Their dedication and vision have been instrumental in shaping Bohler into what it is today.”

“For 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible client partners, not just as consultants, but as long-term, trusted members of their teams. Our approach has always been about more than engineering – we collaborate, strategize, and help navigate challenges to bring their visions to life," said Austin Turner, principal

“We’re grateful for the relationships we’ve built and look forward to continuing to partner with the industry’s most influential players,” said Smith.

After spending the last 25 years in the same location, the firm has officially moved to a new home in Westborough. The modern facility offers amenities such as an on-site restaurant, gym, and walking trails, providing an enhanced workplace experience for employees.

Chris Egan of Carruth Capital, Bohler’s new landlord, shared his enthusiasm for the transition: “We are thrilled to welcome Bohler to Westborough. Their commitment to innovation and community aligns perfectly with the dynamic environment we’ve created here. Carruth Capital is not your typical landlord. We are a real estate solutions company that owns and manages over three million square feet. We solve our clients’ real estate problems. That is why our tenant retention is close to 100%.”

Stephen Woelfel Jr., executive vice president at Colliers International, comments on the firm’s presence: “Bohler’s impact on the region is undeniable – they’ve played a key role in bringing some of the most transformative projects to life. Their team’s expertise, attention to detail, and ability to navigate challenges make them a trusted partner time and again. Working with Bohler means working with a team that not only delivers exceptional results but also makes the process seamless.”

As Bohler continues to expand, the firm is actively hiring across all New England offices. Ambitious professionals looking to grow their careers in a dynamic, innovative environment are encouraged to join the team.
