BOMA Boston hits the links and participates in a day of service - Call for entries now open for TOBY & Industry Awards

Boston, MA On July 10, over 270 golfers participated in this year’s BOMA Golf Cup Tournament at Pine Hills Country Club in Plymouth. Tournament participants enjoyed a picture-perfect day of golf with great food, networking, and prizes. Additionally, there were two hospitality tents sponsored by Pierce Property Services and United Services of America. Also featured in this year’s tournament was a hole-in-one contest, which allowed guests the chance to win a brand new BMW worth more than $40,000. At the conclusion of the tournament, a large crowd gathered around the clubhouse putting green for a chance to win a prize in this year’s putting contest. The tournament, sponsored by C&W Services, is one of BOMA’s signature events and a must-attend event!

On Thursday, July 20, 40 BOMA Boston members joined for a day of service with their new charitable partner, Bridge Over Troubled Waters (BOTW). Volunteers gathered at the BOTW headquarters and participated in several service projects including: lobby painting, interior window cleaning, facility cleaning, and meal preparation for 50 BOTW clients. Thank you those who donated their time and supplies, as well as this year’s Centennial Sponsors for their support in making this service day possible!

According to BOMA Boston, the 2017 BOMA TOBY & Industry Awards Call for Entries are now open! Each year, the TOBY & Industry Awards recognize industry excellence in property management, building operations, and service. There are 17 categories for The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) awards, and nine categories for the Industry Awards. Since the TOBYs are a nationally recognized award, the local winners move onto a regional competition, and hopefully international competition.

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and 2017 BOMA Boston president, Jim DerMinasian, Taurus Management Services LLC.

 

Winners at the local level receive visibility at the Awards Dinner, BOMA Boston website, and local trade publications. Deadline for all nominations and building entries is Monday, September 11. 

The winners will be announced at the annual TOBY & Industry Awards at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on Thursday, November 16.
