On Thursday, November 29th, BOMA Boston welcomed Henry Chamberlain, president and COO of BOMA International, for an executive series luncheon held at 2012 TOBY winner One Financial Center. Chamberlain stressed the economic significance of BOMA and the commercial real estate industry across local and national platforms, as well as the impact felt by the initiatives and "grass roots" efforts of membership in the political and legislative realm. In terms of advocacy, BOMA international holds a Congressional Real Estate Caucus every year to explain commercial real estate issues to key lawmakers. The caucus features Democratic and Republican co-chairs, underscoring the mantra that BOMA is bi-partisan. The end of the presentation was a call to action to get involved in BOMA on a local and national level.
Following the luncheon, Chamberlain met with the BOMA Boston board of directors for a strategic planning session.
At the end of the day, BOMA Boston held a committee appreciation reception, giving committee members a chance to meet Chamberlain and celebrate a job well done for the year.
The BOMA Emerging Professionals Committee hosted their Annual Holiday Happy Hour at Ned Devine's on Wednesday, December 6th. Over 100 BOMA Members gathered to help celebrate the season in a casual networking environment. Attendees participated in an annual Toy and Clothing Drive and over $1,500 in gifts and donations were received to benefit the Massachusetts DCF.
