BOMA Boston hosts Fallfest at the Hard Rock Cafe and Tech Talk

The fall season continues to be busy for BOMA Boston, as the Engineering Committee held a Tech Talk, and the Affiliate Committee hosted their annual Fallfest. In addition, BOMA Boston's signature event, the TOBY and Industry Awards, are less than two weeks away.
On October 16th, the BOMA Boston Engineering Committee held a Tech Talk on the advances in maintenance and workflow management. The Talk featured Jeff Thompson, executive director of AwareManager, who discussed the latest workflow technology andhttp://10.1.0.250/tools/news_clean.php?id=58760 its impact on the commercial real estate industry. Thompson chronicled how workflow improvements have come a long way in the last couple of decades, and cited the movement towards mobile device applications to get tasks done efficiently. These advances appeal to everyone that is involved with the functionality of a building, especially property owners, manager, engineers, and vendors.
On October 18th, over 250 affiliate and industry professionals attended BOMA Boston's annual Fallfest at the Hard Rock Cafe. This event brought together over 250 of BOMA Boston members for an evening of networking, refreshments, and door prizes in the energetic environment. The event was sponsored by 42 of BOMA Boston's affiliate companies, and provided them the opportunity to set up tables to showcase their products and services to industry attendees. BOMA Boston's Affiliate Committee plans the annual Fallfest and Springfest events as a way to showcase the affiliate companies to the industry.
On November 15th, BOMA Boston will announce the winners of the 2012 BOMA TOBY & Industry Awards. They hope you can join them for this highly anticipated evening celebrating excellence in property management, building operations, and service in the real estate industry. Awards presented the night of include: The Outstanding Buildings of the Year (TOBYs), Property Manager of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Executive Engineer of the Year, Affiliate Member of the Year, and Affiliate Company of the Year. This will take place from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30p.m. at Westin Copley Place. This year we will also be honoring John Drew, president & CEO of The Drew Co. with the Industry Leadership Award, and Larry Lenrow, COO & managing director of property management & development of The Davis Cos. with the Executive of the Year award.
