BOMA Boston presents TOBY and Industry Award on November 19

Boston, MA The Building Owners and Managers Association of Boston—BOMA Boston (a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board)—which represents over 100 million s/f of commercial real estate space in downtown and suburban Boston, hosted its annual BOMA Boston TOBY & Industry Awards on Thursday, November 19 at the Westin Copley Place.

The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) categories are separated by total square footage, and building type including: retail building, earth award, historical building, renovated building, medical building, lab building, industrial office park, and suburban low-rise. This year, BOMA Boston honored buildings in 10 different categories, covering city and suburban properties.

2015 TOBY winners

• Over 1 Million s/f: One Financial Center, owned by Dewey Square Tower Associates, managed by JLL.

• 500,000-1 Million s/f: 99 High St., owned by TIAA-CREF, managed by JLL.

• 250,000-500,000 s/f: Rowes Wharf, owned by Morgan Stanley, managed by JLL.

• 100,000-250,000 s/f: 177 Huntington Ave., owned by BCSP VI Huntington Property an affiliate of Boston Capital Partners, LLC, managed by CBRE | New England.

• Under 100,000 s/f: 959 Concord Rd., owned by Colony Realty Partners, managed by Lincoln Property Company.

• Corporate Facility: 601 Congress St., owned by Manulife Financial, managed by John Hancock.

• Historical Building: 200 Berkeley St., owned by John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.), managed by John Hancock Financial Services.

• Industrial Office Park: 360 Cedar Hill St., owned by Colony Realty Partners, managed by Lincoln Property Company.

• Suburban Mid-Rise: 125-150 Cambridge Park Dr., owned by CBRE Global Investors, managed by CBRE | New England.

• Suburban Low-Rise: Westboro Executive Park, owned by Albany Road Real Estate Partners, managed by JLL.

The BOMA Boston Industry Awards are bestowed upon individuals or companies who have shown outstanding service and dedication to the industry and their careers in property management or servicing the real estate industry. This year, BOMA Boston honored Dana E. Warren, Jr., Federal Reserve Bank of Boston with the Executive of the Year Award.

Industry Award winners

• Property Manager of the Year – Low Rise: Dan Dennehy, CBRE | New England.

• Property Manager of the Year – Mid Rise: Christine Shaw, CBRE | New England.

• Property Manager of the Year – High Rise: Shawn Carroll, CBRE | New England.

• Property Manager of the Year – Suburban: Jennie Harris, Colliers International.

• Engineer of the Year: Dennis Carrafiello, Able Engineering Services.

• Affiliate Member of the Year: Samantha DeMagistris, United Services of America.

• Affiliate Company of the Year: ServiceMaster by Gilmore.

Over 550 real estate professionals attended the event, including property management teams, owners, and companies who provide services to the industry. Buildings that won local TOBY awards will move onto the Middle-Atlantic Conference (MAC) regional competition which will be held in Philadelphia, Penn. in April. Winners from the MAC will move onto the International competition at the 2016 BOMA Every Building Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C. in June.
