BOMA Boston raises $85,000 for local charities

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Boston (BOMA), a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, which represents over 150 million s/f of commercial real estate space in the city, hosted its 22nd Annual BOMA Benefit charitable fundraising event on March 5th at the Seaport Boston Hotel. The Monte Carlo casino themed event featured "play" gambling and raffle and door prizes for guests.
BOMA Boston Benefit Committee Co-chair, Steve Wessling of Wessling Architects said, "A person I admire told me a number of years ago you are part of the problem or part of the solution, you cannot be anything else. BOMA Boston is a major part of the solution."
BOMA Boston prides itself on being part of the solution. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, and a raffle, BOMA Boston raised over $85,000 at the event for charities whose missions are aligned with providing housing solutions and education to people in the Greater Boston area. This year's proceeds will benefit City Year Boston, Heading Home, My Brother's Keeper, Massachusetts Hospital School Foundation, South Shore Habitat for Humanity and the BOMA Boston Education Scholarship Fund.
Martine Taylor, executive director of South Shore Habitat for Humanity, said, "For South Shore Habitat for Humanity, this donation will enable us to continue being a solution to the housing crisis on the South Shore and will allow us to provide simple, decent, affordable homes for families in need."
