BOMA Boston TOBY and Industry Awards and Events recap

As we enter the fall season, BOMA Boston has a full slate of upcoming events, including our signature event, the TOBY and Industry Awards.
Join us on November 15th at the Westin Copley Place from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., as we recognize the best and brightest in property management, building operations, and service in the real estate industry at the 2012 BOMA Boston TOBY & Industry Awards.
This year we will be honoring John Drew, President and CEO of The Drew Company with the Industry Leadership Award, and Larry Lenrow, COO and managing director of property management and development of The Davis Companies with the Executive of the Year award.
Other awards presented on the night of include: The Outstanding Buildings of the Year (TOBYs), Property Manager of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Executive Engineer of the Year, Affiliate Member of the Year, and Affiliate Company of the Year. These recipients will be announced on the day of the awards.

On October 16th, BOMA Boston will host a "Tech Talk" on Advances in Maintenance & Workflow Management, featuring Executive Director Jeff Thompson from AwareManager at the BOMA Boston offices At 11:45 a.m. Tech Talks are hour long roundtable luncheon discussions on an engineer topic of interest.
On October 18th, the annual BOMA Boston FallFest will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. FallFest is one of BOMA Boston's most popular annual networking events, with over 250 industry professionals in attendance.
On September 20th, BOMA's Emergency Preparedness Committee hosted their annual September Roundtable in recognition of National Preparedness Month. This year's Roundtable was about the Back Bay Power Outage in March 2012. A panel of six speakers spoke about the before, during, and after of the power outage that lasted three days and affected thousands of people. Entitled "Back Bay Power Outage: Actions Taken & Lessons Learned," the speakers spoke of their own work on the project, including the steps they took to resolve the problem and the lessons learned moving forward.
On September 28th, BOMA held an Executive Harbor Series cruise with Bob Coughlin, President and CEO of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. This Executive Luncheon featured a short presentation from Kimberly-Clark executives about The Kimberly-Clark Professional Healthy Workplace Project - a comprehensive hygiene program which allows employees and tenants to be actively involved in helping reduce the spread of germs in their workplace. After a networking luncheon, Bob Coughlin discussed the impact of biotechnology on the commercial real estate industry and shared his insight on the future of Biotechnology in Massachusetts.
