As September is Preparedness Month, BOMA Boston’s Emergency Preparedness Committee is hosting a Roundtable: Navigating Boston’s Homeless Population on September 21st from 12:00- 1:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston. Please join us for a conversation with community leaders and local law enforcement panelists: Fr. Thomas Conway, OFM, executive director, St. Anthony Shrine; captain Bob Ciccolo, head of district A-1, Boston Police Department; Elisabeth Jackson, president & CEO, Bridge Over Troubled Waters; and Mary Ann Ponti, director of outreach, St. Anthony Shrine, CES Pine Street Inn, St. Francis House. Attend to learn more about Boston’s homeless population and how to work with local and city officials to help create a more safe and friendly environment for our tenants and visitors.

On September 27th, BOMA Boston’s Programs & Education Committee is hosting a short course on Project Management Best Practices instructed by Barry Familetto, CPM, CPA, president at Stetson Management & Development. Discover how to boost your project management skills to ensure successful project deliveries and bring value to your organization. You will learn tips and tricks on how to run effective meetings and manage stakeholders, assess, and manage risks, develop leadership skills, and navigate team dynamics. Register for this course to hone your project management skills and professional development. A certificate will be provided for completing this course.

Save the date for Fallfest, which will be held on Thursday, October 13th at the Exchange at 100 Federal. It will be a great night to connect with over 300 commercial real estate professionals in the heart of Boston’s Downtown/Financial District!

The application for the Larry Lenrow Scholarship is now open through October 31st! BOMA Boston offers the scholarship to support entry-level commercial real estate professionals looking to enhance their commercial real estate careers. Larry Lenrow taught numerous courses while simultaneously managing some of Boston’s most important buildings for over 30 years. The Larry Lenrow CRE Education Scholarship serves to honor his legacy as a dedicated real estate executive. Scholarship recipients may select funding for: BOMI Designation Course, BOMA Foundations of Real Estate Management Course, CMCP Certification, or BOMA International Annual Conference Registration.

Save the date for BOMA’s Annual TOBY & Industry Awards, which will be held on Thursday, November 17th at the Omni Seaport Hotel. BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA designation.
