Summer is now coming to an end, but it’s holding on with a heat wave even into early September.  Overall, it was a very nice season and BOMA Southern Connecticut always makes the best of it by holding fun, yet professional networking events.  We also take that time to plan for the remainder of the year and, like we do for our commercial properties, we will soon begin to budget for the coming year’s events and meetings.

BOMA SoCT kept our summer going with a few social events.  Our golf outing at Richter Golf Club in Danbury was finally achieved after having it rescheduled twice.  Even with a few light sprinkles, the game continued and a great day was had by all. Thank you to Culbertson Company of New York for being the tournament sponsor.  The summer social, held at Harlan Publick in Norwalk, was a fun evening with not only delicious food, but lots of good conversation in a lively indoor/outdoor setting.  Thank you to our event sponsor AffinEco, LLC.  Finally, we kicked off September with our annual Bluefish Tournament.  While the tournament had no true awards, there was a lot of one-on-one competing in this very successful event sponsored AffinEco, LLC and Culbertson Company of New York.  The Middlebank II was chartered out of Captain’s Cove in Bridgeport to take us where no man had fished before!  Well, apparently the women had been there before as they caught some of the best sized blues on the boat!  The clambake that followed is where all talked about the many that got away.  We surely had a greatly successful summer of sporting and networking socials.

Save the date for our Honoree Awards Dinner & Reception on October 7 at the Stamford Marriott.

Congratulations to all the Honorees!

We also welcome to the awards dinner, speaker Jason Roberts who is founder of the Oak Cliff Transit Authority, originator of the Better Block Project, co-founder of the Art Conspiracy and Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, and recent candidate for U.S. Congress.  Roberts is a “can’t miss” energized and inspiring speaker who will present his accomplished strategies on Building Better Cities.  We hope to see you there.
