Boston sponsoring competition to change Ferdinand building

The city of Boston is sponsoring a design competition to change the Ferdinand building in Dudley Sq. into an environmentally friendly government office building.
Mayor Thomas Menino received an award at the convention of the American Institute of Architects and announced the city is receiving applications from teams that want to make the structure into a 21st century model for government employees.
He said three to five teams will be chosen in July and each will be given $25,000 to come up with a design. The winning versions are expected to be presented Dec. 1st.
