BRAGB adds 30 new members in May

Waltham, MA The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) continued its growth pattern by adding more than 30 new members in May, as part of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Membership Month. The promotional period aims to help increase the visibility and membership of builder associations across the country through networking and local outreach.

Since embarking on a significant campaign to inform building professionals about the association’s mission, BRAGB has seen consistent growth and expansion of its membership base in 2016. More than 50 new members have joined since the start of the calendar year.

The campaign included dozens of benefits for new builders and associates, including an exclusive kickoff party event, prizes, giveaways, significant discounts and rebates such as gift cards to local businesses, manufacturer discounts on building materials, and up to $1,000 off a new fleet of General Motors vehicles. By the end of the month, BRAGB had welcomed dozens of new members, including Boston Design Guide, Citizen’s Bank, Hawthorne Builders, and First Class Realty Group Inc.

“BRAGB’s strongest and most important asset has always been its members, and this annual membership drive period allows us to increase our presence in the Boston area and welcome new local businesses to our association,” said Lorraine DeVaux, chief executive officer of BRAGB. “Expanding our national network of informed, well-trained, and innovative builders, remodelers and closely-related specialties allows us to have a stronger voice when advocating for or against legislation affecting housing. BRAGB’s ultimate goal is to ensure that housing is a national priority and that all Americans have access to safe, decent and affordable housing, whether they choose to rent a home, or build one from the ground-up.”

NAHB is the leading non-profit trade association representing home building and remodeling professionals. As NAHB’s local affiliate, BRAGB is dedicated to promoting, protecting, strengthening, and educating the Greater Boston residential building market. BRAGB also has an active philanthropic mission, often making monetary donations or lending the time and expertise of its members to local schools and charitable organizations.

Throughout the May membership drive, BRAGB members donated to “Blueprints of Love,” a 501(c)(3) organization based in Boston that completes room makeovers for children with life-threatening illnesses. BRAGB member New England Shutter Mills generously donated additional funds for every new member that joined the association during the drive›s kickoff event.
