BSA/AIA and ResourcePlus to host Build Boston on November 18-20th

The Boston Society of Architects/AIA (BSA) and ResourcePlus Shows & Events will host Build Boston on November 18 - 20th at the Seaport World Trade Center. Now in its 24th year, Build Boston has grown. 16,000 professionals in the architectural, interior design and construction industries are expected to attend.
Build Boston offers design and construction industry professionals a line-up of professional development opportunities, special events, workshops, panel discussions and networking opportunities. In addition, 350 exhibitors and design exhibits will offer ideas, technologies, products and services. This is an event for anyone involved in architecture, design and const.
All building industry segments are represented to provide the tools needed to build your practice and career. Build Boston also provides an opportunity to earn AIA learning units and continuing-education credits. Highlights of the 24th annual Build Boston include:
Special Day-Long Programs
Build Boston offers one-day symposiums to provide discussion and learning regarding the issues facing the industry. Topics include: 9th Annual Women in Design Conference, the Integrated Practice Symposium, the Building Science Symposium, the Landscape Architecture Symposium, BIM Symposium, the Housing Symposium, the Building Codes Symposium and Cutting-Edge Interiors Symposium.
Morning Tours
The three-day trade show offers morning tours that explore projects underway in the Boston area. The tour program includes: Big Dig Tour, MIT's Stata Center and Brain and Cognitive Science Complex, Re-interpreting Alvar Aalto's Baker House at MIT, Peacock Farms Community, the development of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Exploring the Institute of Contemporary Art,and the landscape of Wellesley College.
Workshop Program - Special Interest Areas
In addition, more than 240 workshops are offered to provide the latest in professional development. Programs focus on issues that are timely and of special interest to the U.S. building industry. Attendees can earn continuing-education credits and AIA LUs in three days by participating in the conference program and doing product research while walking the show floor.
Exhibits
In the exhibition hall of the Seaport World Trade Center, more than 350 of the country's top suppliers will feature building technologies, products and services. Attendees will have the opportunity to examine new building materials and test new communications, design, organization and management software. Professionals can also compare and contrast competing vendors and obtain the best price on the show floor. And throughout the exhibit, Build Boston attendees will experience award-winning design in stunning photographic exhibits. The exhibit hall is open from noon through 6:00 p.m. daily.
Special Events
A feature of the annual Build Boston is the networking opportunities through special events. This year's program includes:
*Keynote presentation by industry economist Robert Murray from McGraw-Hill Const. on Nov. 20th from 10:30 - noon.
*ArchitectureBoston magazine, sponsoring nightly cocktail parties on the show floor.
*BSA/Build Boston Gala and Design Celebration which takes place on November 20th at 6:00 p.m. and features award-winning design, interactive art and a focus on young architects.
