Our chapter is full of opportunities these last months of 2011. On September 21, we are hosting a networking opportunity with a wine tasting night. This is a great opportunity for our members and friends to build those important relationships that benefit our properties, support our IREM Scholarship Fund and have fun. We also have important educational opportunities coming up in the next three months with two all day training seminars and a brown bag workshop.
In September, the chapter is sponsoring full day training with Michael Gantt for all property mangers affected by the HUD Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). This seminar will prepare managers of affordable housing for the REAC inspections of their properties.
Then in November, the chapter is offering a full day seminar for managers and a half day seminar for maintenance personnel on the very important issue of Fair Housing.
In October there is another educational opportunity, a presentation on "Dealing with Difficult Tenants" in our Brown Bag Workshop forum which is a two hour lunch time presentation and discussion on topics related to the field of property management.
Our chapter is committed to our members and our friends of IREM, providing opportunities to support and expand opportunities for property managers. If you are connected to the real estate industry, consider the Institute of Real Estate Management. IREM is the only professional real estate management association serving both the multi-family and commercial real estate sectors and has 80 U.S. chapters, 13 international chapters, and several other partnerships around the globe. Worldwide membership includes nearly 18,000 individual members and over 535 corporate members
IREM promotes ethical real estate management practices through its credentialed membership programs, including the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation, the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certification, the Accredited Commercial Manager (ACoM) certification, and the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation. Collectively, CPM members in the U.S. manage nearly $2 trillion in real estate assets, including 11.4 million residential units and 10.4 billion net s/f of commercial space.
