“It’s an honor to receive national recognition for our work in the community, a corporate mission that has been in Callahan’s DNA for decades,” said Patrick Callahan, president of Callahan. “Our work with local non-profits, community organizations and educators represents our core focus in strengthening our communities and supporting ongoing positive advancement.”

Callahan established Constructing Communities in January 2015 as a community partnership blueprint that reflects the firm’s core principles of integrity, quality, service and customer satisfaction. The program aims to pro-actively support the communities in which Callahan works, as well as inspire young people seeking to join the industry.

Through the program, Callahan collaborates with local officials, high schools, non-profit leaders and community organizations to ensure activities are as valuable and impactful as possible.

Since launching over two years ago, the program has grown. To date, the team has worked with 10 communities and partnered with four local high schools to impact over 200 students.

Callahan engages in a diverse range of community outreach efforts such as buying local, volunteering with local nonprofits, sponsoring community events and leading training/work programs with local schools. By partnering with high schools that offer vocational or trade programs, the educational portion of the program aids students interested in exploring a career in the trades by providing them with the knowledge and tools to create successful career pathways. The firm has supported local schools in Greater Boston including Quincy and Waltham Public Schools, as well as numerous local organizations including the South Shore Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Boston Homeless and Cradles to Crayons, among others.
