Norton, MA Campanelli, a full-service commercial real estate development, acquisition and construction management company, has broken ground on a new 57,000 s/f cold storage warehouse, distribution center and headquarters for Southern New England’s premier frozen food distributor New England Ice Cream Corporation (NEICC). Campanelli is employing their full suite of services in moving NEICC from their current location in Taunton’s Myles Standish Industrial Park which includes a land sale and permitting as well as their design-build and cold storage construction management expertise.
NEICC’s new headquarters is located at Campanelli’s Park at Great Woods, off of I-495. Town manager Michael Yunits welcomes the company to jumpstart growth on the Rte. 140 corridor. “Campanelli has a long history working with the Town of Norton and is committed to the successful move of NEICC’s Headquarters that will ultimately benefit both the Town and surrounding communities.” NEICC will be relocating to their new home by year-end 2016.
The Jones Lang LaSalle industrial team of Rick Schuhwerk, Ed Jarosz, Tony Coskren and Brian Pinch led the real estate site search on behalf of NEICC, leading them to Campanelli’s Park at Great Woods.
NEICC is the exclusive provider for the region’s best-loved brands including Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Good Humor, Blue Bunny, Klondike, Popsicle and many others. A larger facility was imperative to meet NEICC’s customer demands with the acquisition of new product lines that has quadrupled the company’s business since 2013. “Campanelli offered NEICC the total package. Their site was in a strategic location, they have decades-long history of successful industrial park development and their experience in cold storage construction is extensive” stated Bruce Ginsberg, Founder & CEO NEICC. The Massachusetts-based company utilized Lynn Tokarczyk of Business Development Strategies (BDS) in the successful negotiations of state and local incentives.
“This is a true Campanelli project that utilizes our vertically-integrated approach to commercial real estate including our ability to develop land in desirable locations with nearby highway access and our extensive experience in cold storage construction,” said partner, Rob DeMarco.
Campanelli has developed 13 business parks throughout Massachusetts including Upland Woods in Norwood, Weymouth Woods Corporate and Medical Centers in Weymouth, and the Campanelli Business Parks of Middleborough, Freetown, Stoughton, Brockton, Westfield and Braintree. Campanelli Construction, acting as construction manager on the project, has experience building over 130 million cubic feet of ground-up cold storage facilities in seven states over the past decade.
