CATIC Exchange Solutions, Inc. (CESI) has appointed Colleen Capossela as president. CESI is a subsidiary of CATIC Financial, Inc., and a sister organization to CATIC, one of New England's largest domestic and only Bar-Related title insurance underwriter.
Prior to joining CESI, attorney Capossela served as director of title information for CATIC, overseeing the development, implementation, and quality control review of title information products distributed to real estate practitioners throughout New England.
In addition, she oversaw and assisted both CATIC Financial and CATIC in the creation and implementation of various business ventures, including the creation and start-up of CESI. In announcing her appointment, CATIC's president, Richard Patterson, said "Attorney Capossela's background and skills will prove invaluable in her new position as she continues to serve the needs of the real estate practitioner."
Before joining CATIC, attorney Capossela was in private practice in Connecticut, concentrating primarily on business, commercial real estate, lender representation, and commercial financing. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and her law degree from New England School of Law, graduating magna cum laude from both schools.
CESI was formed in January 2003 to manage the business operations of the 1031 like-kind exchange services originally handled by CATIC in the 1990's. Since then CESI has grown into a diversified service company, supporting the needs of the business professional relative to 1031 like-kind exchanges, escrow management services, bonding, and insurance. The company was voted "2012 Best 1031 Exchange Company" by the readers of the Connecticut Law Tribune and "2012 Best Malpractice Insurer" by the readers of The Commercial Record.
