Carr Enterprises serves as construction manager for fast-track $8m New England Organ Bank headquarters

Carr Enterprises, Ltd. was selected by The Bulfinch Companies Inc. as their construction manager for the 41,000 s/f, $8 million fit-up of the oldest independent organ procurement organization in the country, the New England Organ Bank. A fast track project with an aggressive construction schedule, the project was started on July 20 of this year, and concluded with a Certificate of Occupancy obtained on October 26 - an incredible 14 week construction schedule. The building envelope and exterior scope of the project was designed by Smits Associates, Inc. and included a new heated delivery ramp, new entry-ways, as well as a new steel canopy walkway enclosure. The interior scope, designed by Martin Batt Architects included tissue & organ recovery rooms, organ preservation rooms, donor holding areas, conference rooms, as well as administrative offices. This is the second major tenant fit-up project that Carr has completed as construction manager for The Bulfinch Cos. this year. In February, Carr completed another fast-track project, the 65,000 s/f fit-up for the Curtiss-Wright Corp. in Littleton which was completed in 12 weeks. A seasoned professional in tenant fit-up construction, Carr has also completed many other fit-up projects for clients that include among others, Brickstone Properties, Equity Office, BAE Systems, Partners Healthcare, Five Star Quality Care, Oasis Development, and MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
