Boston, MA Karl Case, 69, of Wellesley died on Friday July 22 after a long illness. Case was Professor Emeritus at Wellesley College and a founding partner of the Case Shiller Index of home prices, and was well-known both regionally and nationally for his pioneering research on the housing market.

The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices are the leading measures of U.S. residential real estate prices, tracking changes in the value of residential real estate both nationally as well as in 20 metropolitan regions.
