The 600,000 s/f building, owned by a joint venture between AREA Property Partners and SITQ, was recognized for maximum operational efficiency with minimal environmental impact. The building is exclusively managed and leased by CB Richard Ellis.
"It's a great honor to be awarded LEED Gold Certification at 33 Arch St. and to be recognized for our commitment to environmental stewardship," said Brian Earle, partner at AREA.
LEED certification is recognized as the premier third-party designation for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. 33 Arch St. was evaluated on its sustainability, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials, resources and indoor air quality.
"A significant amount of cost-effective improvements have been made to 33 Arch St. to increase the building's operating efficiency, reduce utility consumption, and minimize the environmental impact of the building's operations and maintenance," said Mark Tassinari, Executive Vice President/Partner at CB Richard Ellis. "We're pleased to be recognized for our efforts and to serve as a national symbol for superior energy efficiency."
33 Arch Street ranks among the top 25% of facilities in the nation for energy efficiency and was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2008 and 2009 Energy Star award. In addition to 33 Arch St., LEED certified buildings managed by CBRE within Boston include One Beacon Street, One Boston Place, 10 St. James Avenue, Seaport World Trade Center East and West, and the Boston Children's Museum.
Built in 2006, 33 Arch Street is one of Boston's most recently constructed premier office towers. The Class A building features panoramic views of Boston, flexible floor plates and new building systems in addition to a full-service café, parking for more than 800 vehicles and virtually column-free floor plates. The building also underwent a recent $3 million lobby and streetscape renovation complete with improved signage, enhanced lighting and upgraded common areas.
