Building a better future: Wayne J. Griffin Electric. Inc. supports Construction Inclusion Week

Holliston, MA Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) strives to foster a positive working and learning environment where every person is valued and respected. The company always looks to hire, train, and maintain team members who are aligned with its vision of excellence but also recognizes the importance of promoting the trades to many different audiences. Griffin Electric is proud to support Construction Inclusion Week and is committed to helping build an industry that offers opportunities to talented individuals and is welcoming for everyone.

Throughout the year, Griffin Electric collaborates with various schools and organizations that look to empower people from a wide range of backgrounds and communities. These groups – which include women, people of color, and veterans, among others – offer varied life experiences and perspectives that can lead to new, innovative ways of solving problems and achieving success on the jobsite. Aside from talent acquisition, the company also works with industry partners to educate these groups about the multitude of opportunities available throughout the trades. These are small but important steps to help make construction an industry that encourages anyone to pursue an excellent and rewarding career path.

For more than three decades, Griffin Electric has offered an in-house Apprenticeship Training Program as a debt-free alternative to traditional schooling. This four-year program is federally and state approved and takes place on-site at the company’s headquarters and each of its Southeast regional offices in Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Griffin apprentices earn excellent compensation and receive full benefits while undergoing 600 classroom hours and gaining 8,000 hours of practical field experience under the supervision of a licensed journeyperson.

Griffin Electric welcomes individuals from all backgrounds to join its Apprenticeship Training Program and take their first step into the trades, while also supporting each employee throughout their career journey.

As the industry grows and evolves, it is important to have these types of conversations and work toward a better and stronger industry over time. Everyone should have a place in construction, and Griffin Electric will continue to do what it can to help make strides toward a future industry that reflects a broad range of voices, perspectives, and experiences. By promoting an environment that includes people from many different backgrounds, the industry as a whole will benefit from the continuous cultivation of a highly skilled workforce that is innovative, determined, and open to new ideas.
